Top marks go to Curro Salt Rock for claiming the best crêche and playschool in The North Coast Courier’s Best of Ballito Readers’ Choice Awards.
The school attributes this success to its ability to continually adapt and evolve, all while striving to meet the individual needs of children and their families under the leadership of the preschool’s new head, Chantelle Smith.
“The school commits itself to creating a warm, friendly and loving environment,” said Smith, who added that every child feels loved and welcome at the school.
Smith has been with the school for the past six years, working as a dedicated teacher in groups three and five, including the preschool’s remedial class, Galaxy Stars.
“I live by the principle of ‘how can I help’ and I intend to lead my team through collaboration and community support, all while aiming to foster an environment of empathy, respect and genuine care.”
Curro Salt Rock Preschool places great importance on open lines of communication and strives to keep parents informed about their child’s progress, daily activities and important events.
Parents are updated face-to-face and through regular newsletters. The preschool creates a collaborative partnership between educators and families by fostering strong communication channels.
Later this year, the school will undergo a transformation as it introduces a new way of delivering its already comprehensive curriculum, the Curiosity Approach.
“Children are naturally curious beings, and it is our responsibility as educators to nurture their innate sense of awe and wonder. Our passionate and dedicated professionals strive to create an awe-inspiring environment to spark children’s imagination, creativity and love for learning,” said Smith.
Through engagement, hands-on experiences and exposure to a variety of activities, the preschool aims to instill a lifelong passion for knowledge, exploration and discovery.
