Butcher Boys Ballito are experts at making great steaks, but they are equally focused on making memories.

This is according to owner Jason Powell, who opened the popular restaurant at Ballito Steps in August 2024. It has been named Best Steakhouse in Best of Ballito for the second year running, while also finishing third in the Best Fine Dining category.

The recognition speaks to the range of people that Butcher Boys Ballito caters to.

“We have areas that are perfect for a business lunch or cozy date night, but we also love having families come up from Willard Beach (a stone’s throw away) to join us,” said Powell.

The restaurant is part of the well-known Butcher Boys group, which launched on Florida Road in Durban in 1999. It later expanded to Umhlanga, and then Meyersdal in Johannesburg, followed by Ballito, and more recently Kyalami.

Their range of meats and cut options is famous, offering both wet and dry ageing facilities in-house, which can be viewed by customers. All steaks are accompanied by a selection of delectable sides, sauces, and flavoured butters. A carnivore’s dream!
