Ballito residents have had their say in the 2026 Best of Ballito Readers’ Choice Awards, voting for the veterinary practices they value most.
From general veterinary care and surgery to dentistry, diagnostics and more specialised treatments, here are the three practices that came out on top.
1st – Animal Zone Veterinary Hospital
Animal Zone Veterinary Hospital has taken first place in the Best Veterinarian category, earning the most votes from the Ballito community.
Located on the R102 between Tongaat and Ballito, the veterinary hospital has more than a decade of experience and offers a range of general and specialised veterinary services.
The practice says it was the first veterinary hospital in South Africa to introduce MLS Laser Therapy and QS Magnotherapy treatments. Its team also handles more complex cases, including diabetic care and behavioural medicine.
Tied for 2nd – Aloe Veterinary Clinic
Two practices take second place in this year’s Best of Ballito voting.
Conveniently located at Ballito Junction Mall, Aloe Veterinary Clinic provides medical and surgical care for small animals, as well as dental care and X-ray services.
Pet owners can also pick up everyday supplies at the clinic’s in-house store.
The clinic combines veterinary services with access to everyday pet-care products under one roof.
Tied for 2nd – Ballito Veterinary Hospital
Ballito Veterinary Hospital rounds out the top three, offering veterinary care from its practice at Ballito Business Centre on Ballito Drive.
The hospital is equipped with diagnostic facilities including a bronchoscope and an in-house laboratory, allowing its veterinary team to investigate a range of conditions.
Its work extends beyond domestic pets, with the team caring for companion animals, wildlife and small-stock animals.
Ballito Veterinary Hospital is also involved in supporting and sponsoring local wildlife initiatives.
