Pro Gratia Learning Centre, established in 2015 in Mbombela (Nelspruit), is a specialised independent school dedicated to supporting learners with special educational needs. At Pro Gratia, we follow an adapted CAPS curriculum, allowing learners to progress at their own pace while receiving the academic, therapeutic, and emotional support they need to succeed. Our holistic approach focuses not only on academic development but also on life skills, social growth, and independence.
For senior learners, we offer a Vocational CAPS programme that includes practical skill development in areas such as Hospitality Studies, Mixed Farming, Carpentry, Nail and Beauty, Arts and Crafts, and Music. These programmes aim to prepare learners for meaningful employment opportunities, learnerships, and active participation in society.
Our dedicated team of qualified educators, therapists, and skills facilitators work closely with families to ensure each learner receives individualised support. Step 1: Make an Enquiry
Contact our office by phone, email, or through our website to discuss your child's educational needs and arrange an appointment.
Step 2: Visit the School
Meet with our management team for a personal consultation and tour of the school to learn more about our programmes and facilities.
Step 3: Submit Supporting Documents
Provide the required documentation, including:
• Copy of the learner's birth certificate or ID
• Parent/guardian ID
• Previous school reports
• Educational psychologist, therapist, or medical reports (if available)
• Any other relevant supporting documents
Step 4: Learner Assessment
Our academic and therapy team will assess your child's educational, social, and developmental needs to determine whether Pro Gratia Learning Centre is the most suitable placement.
Step 5: Placement and Enrolment
If your child is accepted, you will receive an offer of placement. Parents complete the enrolment documentation, sign the necessary agreements, and the learner is welcomed into the Pro Gratia family.
