Last year, we exceeded all expectations with our Best of Durban competition where 115 000 nominations were received as you stepped up to vote for your favourite businesses.

Now, we do it all again, and the plan, with your help, of course, is to knock your socks off.

While the ‘Best of’ campaign has been running for the past 28 years across Caxton Local Media titles, predominantly in Gauteng, this was only the third year for the Durban branch, but boy, did you surprise us with your eagerness to illuminate your businesses. You all had so much to say about the businesses you thought ranked as number one. Plus, we start with your nominations and then move on to your votes – so you, our loyal readers, are the complete decision-makers.

A word of caution for Best of Durban fans: Long after the closing date last year, we were inundated with calls from shoppers wanting to nominate their favoured business. Unfortunately, when the competition is closed, it’s closed. We follow the rules to a tee – from how many times a person can vote to when the cut-off date is. So keep your eyes peeled so you don’t miss the all-important dates.
