Gateway Theatre of Shopping has once again been recognised as Durban’s favourite shopping destination in the Best of Durban Readers’ Choice Awards. Gateway’s dining landscape has expanded in recent months with the addition of Nine Sky, a contemporary Japanese restaurant led by three internationally trained chefs. The eatery offers an elegant take on Asian cuisine, blending traditional techniques with bold innovation. Circus Circus, a Durban staple since 1994, has also recently reopened following a refurbishment. The popular restaurant and café continues to offer a broad menu and excellent coffee in an upmarket setting.
The centre’s entertainment offering remains a strong drawcard. Total Ninja, the inflatable adventure park, is a hit with children and adults alike, while Nu Metro is currently upgrading the multi-screen cinema complex to offer a premium moviegoing experience in the months ahead. The Virgin Active Padel Club has also brought the fastest‑growing racquet sport to the centre and is proving hugely popular with padel enthusiasts.
