Business growth took centre stage at the second annual Best of eMalahleni Readers’ Choice Awards, held at Mercy Tree Manor on September 10.
Guest speaker Daniel Skhosana of the Nkangala Chamber of Commerce offered attendees an optimistic perspective on local trade and investment.
“When you look at the construction of Food Lover’s Market, the school for the blind and deaf in process, and the beautiful Jumbo Mall, that is a clear indication that something good is happening in the business sphere in eMalahleni,” Skhosana said.
He added that the chamber is working on an initiative to bring experienced professionals, including engineers, on board to address municipal infrastructure challenges.
Skhosana also said the chamber is working to restore Puma Stadium to its former glory. Talking about the chamber, Skhosana emphasised that because the chamber is firmly rooted in biblical fundamentals, its mission is unique.
He noted that the chamber aims to produce ‘Christonairs’ rather than mere billionaires, focusing on spiritual wealth and ethical leadership.
“Business growth is about more than what you know – it’s also about who you connect with, what you learn and the opportunities you create. Running a business comes with challenges, but you don’t have to navigate your journey in isolation. Being part of a business community gives you opportunities to connect with other businesses, exchange ideas, learn from others and stay informed about opportunities. At Nkangala Business Chamber, we believe that stronger connections help build a stronger business community,” Skhosana said
