THE time we all have been waiting for since the beginning of the Rugby World Cup 2023 is here. Our national rugby team, the Springboks, will be going head-to-head with New Zealand for the World Cup title on Saturday, October 28, at 21:00.
If you’re looking to get together with other South Africans who will be cheering the Springboks while sharing meals and drinks, Durban has you covered with many places where the match will be shown on big screens.
Northwood Crusaders Sports Club
Join other fans at Northwood Crusaders Sports Club in Durban North. There will be live performances and an additional outdoor big screen, and feel free to bring your own camping chairs for the outdoor setting.
Gateway shopping centre
The Gateway shopping centre will be screening the match at the Cinema Level in the centre. Food and drinks will be sold on-site.
Durban ICC
The Durban ICC Rugby World Cup Fan Park is inviting Durbanites to unite with fellow rugby fanatics to enjoy the much-anticipated match. Gates open at 19:00. There will be refreshments and free parking.
Stokers Arms
In the Upper Highway area, Stokers Arms will also be screening the match. The pub and restaurant open from 11:00, and drinks and food will be sold on-site, as well.
Westville Old Boys Club
The Westville Old Boys Club will be hosting fans from 14:00. There will be a children’s play area, and the venue will be monitored. Food will be sold on-site.

Offered by the eThekwini Municipality, Victoria Mxenge Indoor Sport Hall in Umlazi and KwaMashu Indoor Sports centre will also be screening the match. Doors open at 17:00 and entry is free. There will be food stalls on-site.
